In this devotional blog post, I’d like to write about living in expectation. As disciples of Christ, we are called to live with expectation—not in fear of the unknown but in confidence that God’s promises will come to pass. Living in expectation means trusting that God is always at work, even when we cannot see it. It means waiting with faith, knowing that His timing is perfect. Here’s what Hebrews 10:23 says about this: “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful.”
You see, living in expectation requires a heart posture of trust and readiness. It means waking up each day believing that God is at work, even if circumstances suggest otherwise. According to 1 John 5:14-15, it means praying with confidence, knowing that our prayers are heard. It means walking in obedience, positioning ourselves to receive what God has prepared for us.
However, expectation also requires patience. According to Isaiah 55:8-9 God’s timing is perfect, and His ways are higher than ours. When waiting feels long, we must remind ourselves of His faithfulness in the past and hold firm to His promises.
So, today, choose to live in expectation. Speak life over your situation, thank God in advance, and remain steadfast in faith. God always keeps His word, and at the right time, He will bring His promises to pass.
Question: Are you living in expectation today? Do you trust that God is working behind the scenes in your life? Regardless of the challenges you face, 2 Corinthians 5:7 encourages us to walk by faith and not by sight.
Always remember to keep your heart anchored in His promises, knowing that according to Ephesians 3:20 He is faithful to do exceedingly, abundantly above all you could ask or think.
